Healthy Summer Snack Ideas & Recipes

Healthy Summer Snack Ideas & Recipes

Summer has officially arrived and if you’re after some “hot weather appropriate” healthy snack ideas then you’ve come to the right place! I’ll be updating this blog post every time I post a recipe that is perfect for a summer picnic, BBQ, or simply snack or drink in the garden and I’ve included a couple of new recipes that I haven’t featured on my blog before.. they are so good!

Most of these recipes are ‘no bake’ which means you don’t need to turn on a hot oven (the last thing you want to do when it’s hot!) and as well as tasting amazing they are super healthy for you too (as always!). I want to say a massive thank you to Multipower UK* for setting me this summer recipe challenge and really hope that you enjoy my picks.. just click any links in red for the recipe! 🙂

Sweet Summer Snacks – These no-bake treats taste amazing & as they keep in the freezer they are perfect for a hot summer’s day!

Chocolate Covered Frozen Kiwis

Chocolate Kiwis

These Chocolate Covered Frozen Kiwi Pops are amazing! To make them all you need is: 2 kiwis, 100g of dark chocolate (I used 85% Cocoa) and 1 tbsp of oil. Simply chop off the ends of the kiwis and peel off the skin using a spoon – simply insert the spoon under the skin & move it around the fruit (DON’T use a knife which changes the shape of the kiwi), slice the kiwis into chunks, pop in a lolly stick into each slice and freeze until solid (I froze the kiwis in a silicone muffin tray but you could lay them on grease proof paper instead!). Once the kiwi slices are frozen, melt the chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave with the oil (to thin out the chocolate) – be careful not to burn the chocolate & keep stirring every now and again, before spooning the chocolate over the kiwis – allow any excess chocolate to drip off before re-freezing until solid.. then enjoy!

Yoghurt covered blueberries

These Blueberries Covered with Yoghurt taste amazing and are made from just 2 ingredients, they are literally so easy to make and all you need is your favourite yoghurt & berries. To make, simply use a cocktail stick to pick up a berry, dip it into the yoghurt & pop it on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper or in a silicone loaf tray (so it doesn’t stick!) then freeze. Keep these beauties frozen & eat immediately (or they will start to melt!).

Yoghurt drops with strawberries

These Yoghurt Drops with Strawberries taste super sweet and you can eat them “guilt free”! To make them, simply drop small amounts of your chosen yoghurt onto grease proof paper, add a sliced fruit or berry & freeze! Eat immediately once taken out of the freezer .. or they will melt! 🙂
