Recipes with Powdered Peanut Butter aka PPB

If you’ve got some PPB (aka Powdered Peanut Butter; the UK version of PB2) in your cupboards then this recipe blog post is for you.. here are my FAVOURITE recipes to make with it!!

You can read more about powdered peanut butter, which has 70% less fat and 50% fewer calories than standard peanut butter, in my product review blog post, as well as for tips on how to use it, but in this blog post I wanted to put together my favourite recipes using it!

PPB Cookies

 

New PPB Recipe Ideas:

French Toast

Ingredients: 2 egg whites, 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk, 1 tbsp stevia, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp PPB & 2 pieces of bread.

Method: 1) Use a fork to mix together the egg, milk, stevia, vanilla, cinnamon and PPB 2) Pour the mixture into a shallow bowl/plate with a rim and dip in your bread (one at a time) until both sides are coated 3) Spray a pan with cooking oil and fry on a medium heat for a few minutes on each side until cooked 4) Serve with an optional PPB sauce (simply mix PPB with milk or water until it reaches your desired consistency).

Serves 1. Nutrition stats based on PPB mixture plus 2 slices of Hovis Nimble bread: 164 Kcal, 19.4g carbs, 16g protein, 2.5g fat.

PPB French Toast

 

Frozen Banana Pops

Ingredients: Ripe bananas that have been peeled, halved and frozen & 4 tbsp PPB mixed with 2 tbsp milk or water.

Method: 1) Take a frozen banana half and wrap it in foil like an ice pop 2) Spoon on the PPB mix and spoon on 3) Eat, repeat and enjoy!

Serves 1. Nutrition stats dependent on size of your banana and amount of PPB used!

Fresh Strawberries & PPB

Ingredients: A handful of medium-large strawberries, 4 slightly heaped tbsp PPB mixed with 2 tbsp milk/water.

Method: 1) Slice the tops off the strawberries 2) Slice a hole in the middle of the strawberries with a knife i.e. scoop out the white bit in the middle 3) Mix together the PPB and milk/water until you get a thick peanut butter spread and scoop inside the strawberries 4) Chill until serving!

Serves 1. Nutrition stats dependent on size of strawberries/amount of PPB used.

PPB Mug Cake

Ingredients: 25g oats, 2 tbsp PPB, 1 tbsp stevia & 80ml milk

Method: 1) Mix all of the ingredients in a mug 2) Microwave for 1.5 to 2 minutes 3) Top with yoghurt, fruit, desiccated coconut and cinnamon and enjoy!

Serves 1. Nutrition stats using using skimmed milk: 162Kcal, 24g carbs, 10g protein, 3g fat.

PPB Mug Cake

 

PPB Apple Ring Bake

Ingredients: 2 apples, cored and sliced into 1-1.5cm chunks, 6 tbsp PPB mixed with 3 tbsp water or milk, 3-4 tbsp desiccated coconut.

Method: 1) Preheat your oven to 190 degrees C 2) Spread an apple ring with the PPB mix and sprinkle on coconut flakes 3) Top with another apple ring and repeat until all of the apple slices have been used 4) Place on a wire rack and bake for 5 mins, flip and bake for another 5 minutes until soft and golden 5) Serve with a dollop of yoghurt and enjoy!

Serves 2: 180 Kcal, 7g fat, 24g carbs, 8g protein each

PPB Apple Bake

 

PPB Baked Banana Boat

Ingredients: 1 banana, 4 tbsp PPB mixed with 2 tbsp milk or water, your toppings: raisins, seeds, nuts, granola, chocolate chips, marshmallows etc!

Method: 1) Preheat your oven to 220 degrees C 2) Slice the banana down the middle, after chopping of the ends and push back the skin to make an opening 3) Spread your PPB mix down the middle of your banana and add your chosen toppings before closing the banana together 4) Place the banana in a baking dish lined with foil or baking paper and wrap around the banana to make a parcel 5) Bake the banana for 12 minutes.. serve with yoghurt & enjoy (optional: drizzle with PPB sauce i.e. PPB mixed with milk/water) .. P.S you don’t eat the skin 😉

Serves 1: 230 Kcal, 44g carbs, 7g protein, 4g fat

PPB Baked Banana Boat

 

PPB Banana & Coconut Cookies

Ingredients: 45g oats, 50g desiccated coconut, 4 tbsp PPB, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1 ripe banana (mashed), 2.5 tbsp melted coconut oil, 1/4 tsp vanilla. Optional: raisins or chocolate chips.

Method: 1) Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C 2) Mix together the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet in another 3) Combine the wet and dry ingredients together (adding any optional ingredients plus a tbsp of milk or water if your mixture seems dry) 4) Scoop pieces of the mixture and shape into 6 cookie shapes on a baking try lined with baking paper 5) Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden!

Per cookie: 160 Kcal, 11g carbs, 4g protein, 12g fat

    PPB has been on my shopping list for ages now! I keep thinking “next payday… then the next payday..” lol.

    I think my favourite recipe here is the stuffed strawberries, simple yet indulgent! I would make those for a dinner party, with a bowl of melted dark chocolate for dipping!

    I haven’t tried a powdered peanut butter yet but I definitely will as I’m a massive peanut butter fan but don’t allow myself to eat much of it because of the fat. Love all the recipe ideas!

    I’ve heard great things about PB2 and being pretty sure more peanut butter flows through my veins than blood, I like the sound of it! I’d definitely have to have a go at the French toast, seems like the perfect way to use this new format of nut butter!

    Healthy Coconut Frozen Chocolate Bites using your sisters preferred mix of chocolate Protein Powder instead of PPB. Gets me through my work outs knowing i’ve a delicious treat in store for me!     Hi Nic, I have just come across your website and am so pleased . Lots of advice and recipes for healthy living. I have just spent a happy couple of hours trawling your site and reading the posts. I had not heard of PPB untill I read of it in your blog. All the recipes sound lovely but if I have to chose one then it would be the coconut macaroons,
