If you’re a fan of my no bake healthy truffles, then you will love this recipe! These delicious frozen bites are packed with goodness and taste so good you’ll never believe that they’re healthy.
These frozen bites make a delicious snack, dessert or pre-workout treat and are a great source of potassium and fibre (from the bananas), healthy fats and protein (from the nut butter) and flavanoids/antioxidants (from the dark chocolate).
You can customise these bites with your chosen nut butter (I used cashew butter) and can even add desiccated coconut for added fibre and healthy fats (make sure to buy unsweetened!).
[ingredients]*I used three different types of nut butters to try them out – Meridian 100% Roasted Cashew Nut Butter, Artisana 100% Organic Raw Cashew Butter and MyProtein’s Roasted Cashew Butter – I love all three and would advise you to pick a nut butter based on your preference for raw or roasted nuts. Always check the ingredients list of your nut butters and make the decision if you want to choose one with added sugar/salt (none of mine had these added), oil (MyProtein’s Cashew Butter has 4% added organic sunflower oil where as their Peanut Butter is 100% nuts, as is their Almond Butter – which makes me wonder why they needed to add the oil in the Cashew.. any thoughts?!) or if you want a ‘100% nut’ nut butter – my choice. From a monetary perspective, the MyProtein nut butters are the best value.
**The darker the chocolate the better – I used 85% cocoa which means more antioxidant goodness, less added fat & sugar as well a much richer taste (meaning a little goes a long way!) – use at least 70% cocoa if you can’t find 85%.

Haha thanks Maxine! Love your pic too 🙂 So glad you liked them!! Nic xx
These were so easy to make! And perfect to keep in the freezer for when I fancy a treat. They’re quite rich so one is enough to satisfy a craving, and eaten straight out of the freezer means they last longer! Great, simple, healthy recipe!

Aw thanks for your lovely comment Leah! So glad you like them 🙂 xx
Yum, just polished mine off! The kids adore them, literally over anthng else!! I find it easier to slice the banana lengthways, dab each cut side with kitchen towel then spread on the nut butter, sandwich and freeze whole. I then sliced it from frozen. I found the other way the slices were so skippy I got in a real mess!
