Tribest Personal Blender Review & Healthy Smoothie Recipes

Tribest Personal Blender Review & Healthy Smoothie Recipes

If you’ve read my blog post on “Blending versus Juicing” then you’ll already know that I am a MASSIVE smoothie fan and I couldn’t wait to share this amazing new gadget with you, which I have been using EVERY SINGLE DAY for the last month! In this blog post I’ve reviewed the Tribest Personal Blender 250 and have filmed a YouTube video talking you through how to use it, as well as how to make three of my favourite dairy-free healthy smoothie recipes.

  • What are the Benefits of Blending?

You blend to create smoothies, which are drinks that include the whole of the fruit and/or veg, including the fibre,  Soluble fibre, found in the fleshy part of fruit and vegetables, dissolves in the stomach to form a liquid/gel and helps to soften stools (making it easier to go to the toilet!), lower cholesterol levels and promote healthy gut bacteria. Insoluble fibre, found in whole-grains, nuts and seeds and the edible skins of fruit and vegetables, can’t be digested and it increases stool bulk and transit time, therefore preventing constipation.

Higher fibre foods are good for us they tend to have a lower ‘glycaemic index’ which means that they release their energy more slowly, keeping you feeling fuller for longer. There is also evidence to show that diets rich in fibre can prevent heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.

Smoothies, especially when made with milk or yoghurt can make an ideal breakfast or snack and will provide vitamins, minerals and fibre as well as protein and calcium.

  • What is the Tribest Personal Blender?

The Tribest Personal Blender is a high powered blender that is perfect for whipping up nutritious fruit and protein smoothies, homemade nut butters and soups as well as freshly ground nuts, seeds and coffee beans. The blender is lightweight, compact, and super convenient.. all you need to do is pop all your ingredients into the blend-n-serve cup, screw on the blade, blend, and enjoy – it’s so simple! It’s also super easy to clean – you quickly rinse the blade under hot running water and pop the blending cup in the dishwasher .. which means no washing up in-between smoothie making *hurray*!

  • Blender Blades

The blender comes with two different types of blade:

The Blending Blade: To make fruity breakfast smoothies, super smooth post work-out protein shakes, and pre-workout green smoothies packed with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. It can also handle ice and frozen fruits – perfect for making cool and refreshing drinks during the hot summer months (if we ever get any sunshine!). You can also blend soups, nut butters and baby food in it too!

The Grinding Blade: Perfect for grinding up seeds and nuts with minimal effort turning them into a fine powder – perfect for adding to morning bowl of porridge or protein shakes for added healthy fats, protein and fibre. Coffee lovers can also make freshly ground coffee in the blink of an eye and store in the air-tight containers to keep fresh for days!

  • What are the “Plus Points” of the Tribest Personal Blender?

Super Convenient: You can drink from your own individual Blend-N-Serve cup which allows you to blend multiple drinks without having to stop and clean a bulky blending jar for each recipe – great for families or for a busy morning!

Minimal Washing-Up: Simply rinse the detachable blending blade under hot running water straight away to quickly and instantly clean!

Compact Design: The blender takes up minimal kitchen space to fit neatly on display in the kitchen .. you’re more likely to blend if it’s out on display!

Secure and Convenient Lids: Perfect for picnics in the summer, or for those pressed for time wanting to sip as they go.

BPA Free plastic: BPA stands for bisphenol A. and is an industrial chemical used to make certain plastics. Research shows that BPA can seep into food and beverages from containers that are made with BPA so it’s always best to use BPA Free products where possible.

  • What’s the Difference Between the PB Models?

The Personal Blender 250 Model comes with: The motor base, blending blade, grinding blade, 2 x 230ml BPA free plastic blending cups,  2 x 450ml BPA free plastic blending cups, 3 x blending cup lids and a commuter sipping lid. The Personal Blender 350 Model also includes 3 x air tight glass mason jars and a glass mason drinking mug (see below!). I’m really sorry but the discount code that I had has now expired!

  • My Verdict?

As you can tell from my video review, I LOVE this blender .. and it’s even replaced my Waring Pro on my counter top which I’ve had for over a year. It’s quick and simple to use and so easy to wash-up.. I’ve been having a smoothie (don’t forget to check out my 3 favourite dairy-free smoothie recipes!) every morning lately made with frozen banana, ice, protein powder, milk and spinach and then during the day I may whip up another smoothie if I need a bit of a pick me up – gorgeous!!

Happy Blending Everyone!!

Would this blender be good at making nut butters?

    • June 28, 2014 / 8:20 am

Yep! Simply pop roasted nuts into the blending cup and secure using the grinding blade. The longer you blend, the smoother the nut butter will be so it’s important that you keep checking the process and stop once you have reached your desired consistency (you may need to open and stir the ingredients in between pulses).

You can also try using unroasted nuts if you would prefer, but these would need a little coconut oil or similar oil as unroasted nuts won’t release their oils as easily.

      Good luck! xx

    Hi Nic,
Thanks for the fab review ! I make but butter once or twice a week and I’m finding my 400W food processor a bit slow (20mins) roughly. I’d also love just the One machine for my smoothies, pestos and nut butters so I was wondering is this the one for me !? Thanks a mill
