In the summer, there’s nothing quite like enjoying an iced-coffee in the sunshine. Watch your waist-line though as a coffee-shop iced-coffee can set you back as many as 330 calories and 19g of fat (whole milk with whipped cream and a sugary mocha syrup). That’s as much as a small meal!
I’ve also watched an iced-coffee being made whilst on holiday and they added (no joke) 3 heaped dessert spoons of sugar.. yes it tasted good but no way could I enjoy it guilt free (my poor teeth!).
So, if you’re after a delicious, yet ‘skinny’ iced-mocha (in only 90 calories!) that you can enjoy guilt-free, where ever you like, when ever you like, then carry on reading!

*Orzo is a naturally caffeine-free barley coffee .. I’ve also tried this recipe with Beanies Flavoured Coffee – Cinder Toffee, and it tasted incredible!
**Xylitol is a sugar alternative that is low calorie and low carb, tastes delicious and is kind to teeth too! You could swap it for stevia (natural sweetener).
Ingredients
- 1 tsp of coffee or 2 tsp of Orzo Coffee*
- 200-250ml skimmed milk/milk alternative
- 1 tsp cocoa
- 1.5 tsp xylitol**
- Ice-cubes to serve
Method
- Pop your coffee, milk, cocoa and xylitol/stevia in a blender or shaker
- *mix*
- Pour over ice-cubes and enjoy!
P.S I have also tried this recipe with half a frozen banana and it tasted amazing – like a creamy chocolate, coffee smoothie!
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who sends me pictures of my recipes on Twitter & Facebook – here are a selection!!
Above: They dissolved the coffee & cocoa in water then blended with whey protein & milk!
