Last Friday night I had the pleasure of attending the very first UK Blog Awards and I have YOU to thank.. A few months ago I asked you to vote for my blog in the UK Blog Awards ‘Health Category’ and thanks to YOUR votes nicsnutrition.com was shortlisted in the top 10 (out of a total of 900 blogs!!). I was thrilled to have been lucky enough to attend and was looking forward to the awards ceremony at St. Paul’s The Grange Hotel in London to see who the judges had chosen as their winner (the judges decision was final!).
So before I tell you more about the evening and results I just want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU again for supporting my blog – after launching it just over 2 years ago I have loved every minute and am so grateful for all of your lovely comments and feedback (they keep me going!). Thank you also to the amazing (& yummy) Fage UK who make Total Greek Yoghurt – they kindly offered to sponsor my trip and you can follow them on Twitter, YouTube, Instagram & Pinterest.
The awards night was filled with glitz and glamour.. from cupcakes to popcorn there was clearly no shortage of food (however I unfortunately couldn’t sample any of it as I was still recovering from having 4 wisdom teeth removed!!) and the entertainment was great – there was a live singer on the dance floor and the awards ceremony itself was hosted by Media Coach Alan Stevens.
I unfortunately didn’t win an award, but it deservedly went to Chris Lewis from ‘Chris’s Cancer Community’. Highly commended nominations in the Health Category went to Angie Aspinall from ‘The Limping Chicken’ and Helen Foster from ‘Health-e-Helen’. I feel honoured to have been short-listed and congratulate the winners & those highly commended whole heartily – I’ll defiantly be entering next year and will keep on blogging my heart out for you all!
Despite not receiving an award I had an amazing night, mainly because of the two gorgeous sisters below – Georgia Farquharson from WelcomeToMyWorldXO, who is a journalism student & lifestyle blogger, and Amy Farquharson from CreativeMakeUp. Georgia and Amy have long supported my blog and have made so many of my recipes that I couldn’t wait to meet them. These two really are both beauty and brains and Georgia was talented enough to be shortlisted for the Young Persons Award. Amy is new to blogging and I cannot wait for her new website!
On the night we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to make our own bags.. below pictures from left to right:

All in all it was an amazing night of chatting, dancing and learning about some amazing new blogs.. Check out the UK Blog Awards website for full lists of the Winners, those Highly Commended & Finalists (including me!).
Thank you so much for reading my blog and for your support – I wouldn’t still be blogging without you!
Love Nic x
P.S. Fingers crossed for next year 😉
