Sukrin Low Carb, Gluten & Wheat Free Bread Mix Review

Sukrin Low Carb, Gluten & Wheat Free Bread Mix Review

If you’re looking for a low carb bread mix that tastes AMAZING, is packed with goodness and is free from gluten, wheat, soy, milk and yeast then look no further, Sukrin is your answer!! This bread mix has no added sugar, is high in fibre and provides just 58 calories per 40g slice (1g carb, 0g sugar, 3.5g protein, 3.4g fat, 8.5g fibre, 0.2g sodium).

You also DO NOT NEED A BREAD MAKER *hurray* ! All you have to do is combine the bread mix with 300ml of water, pop it into the foil tray (which is provided) and then bake it in the oven for 80 minutes. There’s no proofing or kneading required.. just mix, bake and you’re done! Once baked and cooled you can then slice the bread and freeze it or store it in the fridge (in a bag) for later.

The bread is packed with sunflower, pumpkin, sesame and flax seeds which means that it has a higher percentage of fibre, protein and healthy fats than regular wheat-based breads. The added seeds also mean that the bread has a much lower glycaemic index (GI) than ‘normal bread’,  meaning it releases its energy slowly and will keep you feeling fuller for longer. Seeds are a fantastic source of both vitamins and minerals including Vitamin A, C and K, potassium, phosphorous and magnesium which are essential for both health and vitality.

The bread tastes delicious either as ‘bread’ or toasted and has a delicate ‘seedy’ flavour. It’s a great addition to salads, omelettes or eaten on its own topped with a nut butter, tomato puree (trust me) or dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

I agree it’s pricey but could be a nice change for someone who is GF for life! The cake-mix looks good though!
