The Pure Wraps (made from coconut!) Review

The Pure Wraps (made from coconut!) Review

Wraps made from just two ingredients.. coconut & himalayan salt? Yes you heard it.

This healthy product review is for ‘The Pure Wraps’ and they could be a game changer for those who have to avoid gluten, dairy and egg and still want to enjoy a good old wrap. And even if you don’t have any allergies, these wraps are a great choice if you want a convenient, low GI (they release their energy slowly) and lower calorie alternative to bread (they contain just 60 calories each), and they also taste delicious!

I honestly don’t know how the makers have done it but on the pack it says that it’s taken more than two years to research and produce.

I filled my plain wraps with mayonnaise, chicken breast & lots of salad (naturally) and was really impressed. I much prefer them filled, as opposed to own their own (I tried them purely as a test!) and was impressed at how durable they are.

The wraps contain 60 calories each, 2.5g fat and just 8g carbs (wraps are usually over double this) and are suitable for those with coeliac disease (they are gluten free) and diabetes (they are low in carbs).

There are four wraps in each pack and they are best served at room temperature. The makers tell me that even after opening the wraps still have the same long shelf life at room temperature (just keep them covered and away from dry circulating air). For convenience, a piece of unbleached parchment paper is placed between every two wraps and these can be used to fold (at room temperature) a wrap and take it to work, or to your favourite cafe in replace of regular bread.

The coconut wraps come in two different flavours – plain and curry flavoured. I’m not usually a curry fan but found the wraps quite tasty. I filled my curry wrap with chicken goujons & salad for a hot lunch and really enjoyed it.

The ingredients of the curry flavoured wrap are; coconut meat, coconut water, organic curry power and himalayan salt. Nutrition wise they contain 70 calories, 3g fat and 9g carbs.

If you’re interested in trying these wraps yourself, you can buy them from Amazon or check the Pure Wraps UK website (which works out cheaper if you use my discount code NIC20 which gets you 20% off!).

Do let me know if you give them a go – I seriously am impressed!

Hii I tried the pure wraps today and they were super yummy. Did them with mashed avacado cottage cheese and lettuce with a lil black pepper. So yummy. Texture took a lil getting used to however I found them very filling! Will be buying some more and can’t wait to Try the curry ones. X
