The other week Alpro invited me to their #Alpronista Food & Fitness Event.. 26 Yoga Moves to represent the 26 Calories in a 200ml Glass of Alpro’s Unsweetened Almond Drink, followed by a gorgeous Plant Based Brunch. I of course said YES as it would also mean meeting some lovely other food and fitness bloggers such as Carly Rowena & Lydia Millen (who I have to say a MASSIVE thank you to for the amazing images that you see!), Ali Gordon, Freya and Rhiannon.
Our day started at 7:30am (ouch for a Sunday!!) as myself and Carly ventured to The Shard from our hotel. We were greeted by the amazing Amy Slevin at the 70th floor (the views were amazing!) who took us through our paces (check out the video above to see what we did!) – from the “crow” to “headstands” we tried it all, and I have to say that I really did feel super relaxed afterwards. It’s only the second time that I’ve done yoga but it’s definitely inspired me to try it again!
After the Yoga session we refuelled with a delicious plant-based Alpro inspired breakfast .. you name it, we ate it! We had everything including muffins, cherry-bakewell muesli, overnight oats, healthy flapjacks, green avocado smoothies and pancakes with a berry compote. Everything was totally delicious (and healthy too!) and you can find Alpro’s recipes on their website.
Alpro’s Unsweetened Almond Drink is made from lightly roasted Mediterranean almonds and water, with no added sugar or sweeteners. It is 100% plant-based, naturally low in fat and contains just 13 kcal per 100 ml (26 calories per 200ml serving!). The Unsweetened Almond Drink is also a source of vitamin E, an antioxidant which contributes to the protection and health of our cells and is naturally lactose and dairy free (which is ideal if you are intolerant to cow’s milk!).
I personally use Unsweetened Almond Drink in my morning Smoothies & Over-Night Oats (but not in tea!) and for more inspiration check out all of my recipes that use Almond Drink as an ingredient.
I want to say a massive thank you to Alpro for inviting me (& Asquith – who provided the yoga clothes that Carly rocked SO well & Lululemon for the yoga mats!!) .. I had such a lovely time doing yoga as the sun came up over London, and chatting to the other bloggers over brunch was so nice!
I really hope you’ve enjoyed my different style of video this week (& blog post!) – do let me know if you have any tasty recipes using the Alpro Unsweetened Almond Drink!
