Aphrodisiac Valentines Day Food

Aphrodisiac Valentines Day Food

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today I wanted to share with you my favourite, super sensual Valentine’s Day foods that you should include in your love-themed menu! Each food is designed to be an aphrodisiac to get you in the mood – from suggestive colours and shapes to foods that can trigger physical reactions inside the body.. read on to find out what they are 😉 ..

  • Breakfast: Heart shaped Wholegrain Toast topped with Tomato Puree & Cherry Tomatoes to symbolise the colour of love, with a heart-shaped Boiled Egg (created using a heart shaped egg mould!)

  • Lunch: Serve an Avocado & Rocket side salad topped with Pine Nuts. Rocket stimulates your taste buds, making your mouth more sensitive and avocados are meant to resemble parts of the human body(!) – they also have a super sensual texture too. Pine nuts as a topping are packed with zinc, which is great for male fertility!

  • Snack: A Banana! Bananas are packed with potassium and B vitamins, which are essential for hormone production and they’re also shaped rather promiscuously too!

Valentine Foods

  • Evening Meal: Honey & Ginger Chicken with Asparagus (serve with basmati rice) .. the sweetness of the honey, combined with spices to stimulate blood flow, will help to increase desire, along with the asparagus (which is again shaped rather promiscuously!) is packed with vitamin E which is great for libido.. scroll down for the recipe!

  • Dessert: Strawberry & Pineapple pieces Dipped in Dark Chocolate .. strawberries smell and taste delicious, and they also symbolise the colour of love, and pineapple can help with digestion. The magic ingredient though really is the chocolate as chocolate can help to enhance feelings of pleasure! If you’re over 18 a glass of wine may also help to enhance that romantic atmosphere as well 😉 .. scroll down for the recipes!

To make the Chocolate Covered Fruits.. You will need: 100g dark chocolate, a small punnet of strawberries & a small can of pineapple rings (canned in juice, not syrup).

And here’s what to do.. 1) Break the chocolate into chunks and melt in the microwave for a few minutes (keep stopping & stirring the chocolate to make sure that it doesn’t burn) 2) Dip the strawberries into the chocolate and twirl to let the excess chocolate drip off (or use a spoon to cover the strawberries) 3) Drain the pineapple rings and dip one half into the chocolate as shown in the picture 4) Place the chocolate covered fruits onto a plate covered with grease-proof paper & chill in the fridge for at least 30 mins & enjoy!
