Simply Cook.. Recipe, Review & Discount Code!

If you’re after an easy and quick way to cook tasty and nutritious evening meals at home then this blog post is for you.

Simply Cook challenged myself and two other YouTubers, Hollie and Kezia, to a ‘Simply Cook Off’ where we had to create a meal on screen using their flavour boxes and recipe cards, which are put together by chefs (check out my video below to see and hear more!).

Each Simply Cook box (which I have a cheeky discount for; use ‘Nichola’ for £6 off an £8.99 box!) is like a ‘recipe kit’ and contains 4 easy to follow recipe cards (complete with a tear off shopping list!) along with 4 flavour boxes each containing 3 ‘flavour ingredients’ – think pastes and dried mixes which you add to your own fresh ingredients such as meat and vegetables. A gluten free box is also available if you require it and the flavours are always 100% natural.

I decided to make the chicken tagine which was made using 3 chicken thighs (I decided to use chicken breast instead), chickpeas, chopped tomatoes and apricots. Garlic paste, tagine paste and tagine herbs/spices were provided in the box and added to make this dish one of the tastiest things that I have eaten all week. It went down very well with my partner too! I served the chicken tagine with couscous (quinoa was also suggested as a gluten free option) and a side of spinach (I always add greens to my dinner for extra nutrients!).

All in all I think Simply Cook is a great idea if you’re short on time mid week, want to eat healthily and like your food to taste good!!
