Most shop-bought chocolate based cereals are LOADED with sugar (just check out the label!).. however this granola/muesli recipe is different as it contains no added sugar! It’s so easy to make and is guaranteed to be a hit with the entire family. It can be kept in an airtight container for up to two weeks and takes just 10 minutes to prepare.

Tip – use dark chocolate as it has more antioxidants as well as less added sugar and fat than milk or white chocolate.

  • 200g jumbo oats
  • 100g walnut pieces roughly chopped (or other nuts such as macadamia)
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder (or drinking chocolate)
  • 100g raisins
  • 50g dark chocolate chips

*to make this recipe gluten free use gluten free oats

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180 C, gas mark 4

Step 2

Mix together the oats, walnuts and cocoa in a bowl and then spread out on a large baking tray

Step 3

Bake for 5 minutes and allow to cool

Step 4

Stir in your raisins and chocolate chips

Step 5

Serve with skimmed milk and top with sliced banana (my choice!!)

This granola is yummy. It’s really quick to make and very filling, the portion size is perfect and the walnuts give it such a delicious flavour. I love it with pouring yoghurt and raspberries! I will always be making my own granola from now on-great recipe.
